We live in a society where there is still confusion and doubt about how to build a perfect immune system. Nature is not confused but people are. Nature knows she can build a strong immune system for people when people start to eat plant-based whole foods (PBWF) in season (organic) and fresh.

How well people nourish themselves will determine how well people’s immune system is functioning dealing with viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). I personally like to stay in charge of my own health because it determines the quality of my daily life. Eating PBWF’s every day is probably one of the smartest things you can do to have a strong immune system and protect yourself against illnesses and harmful viruses.

Over the years I have met and come across many dedicated people who made it their business to know everything about health as well as how to live a healthy lifestyle. One of these people is Dr. T. Colin Campbell, Ph.D. he is the Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, and is the founder of the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and has 60 years of experience in the field of nutritional science.

He wrote an article that was published at the Centre for Nutritional Studies in June 2020. He said, switching to a whole-food, plant-based (PBWF) diet should lessen the severity of disease symptoms while simultaneously increasing COVID-19 antibodies, a win-win effect. Based on other studies, this effect may begin within days, possibly providing enough time for people not yet infected by COVID-19 to strengthen their immunity.

T. Colin Campbell went on to say, even though there is no direct proof, I am quite confident that this nutritional strategy could produce a faster, safer, more comprehensive long-term solution for coping with viral diseases like COVID-19. If everyone did it, we might not need to mask ourselves, avoid physical contact, and wait for new drugs with unpredictable side effects and vaccines likely to be only partially effective, at best, for new viruses. That being unlikely, we, as individuals, could adopt this practice and protect ourselves and our family and friends and, in doing so, take responsibility for our own health. We already have strong scientific evidence that this diet effectively reduces comorbidities associated with severe cases of COVID-19.

The point Dr. T. Colin Campbell and I are making is that you can start taking control of your own health today. Start boosting your immune system now, what are you waiting for? Start eating plant-based whole foods more frequently, up to the point it is all you eat!

It is time for commonsense to prevail and for people to stop being bewildered, confused, and scared. Millions of people around the world have chosen to eat PBWF’s and are experiencing health beyond their wildest dreams. Having robust immune systems that are ready to protect them 24/7 from viruses and other potential harm. This is not a fable; this is Dr. T. Colin Campbell and my truth.

If our Government truly wants to do something about boosting the immune system of each person. Then I recommend all Governments around the world to start promoting a Plant-Based Whole Foods Diet. Start subsidising foods that boost the immune system and help prevent illnesses and diseases.

Our immune system is made up of a complex network of cells and organs that help protect our body from harmful toxins and infections. Nutrition can influence our immune health and play a key role in determining how susceptible we are to infections. Adding immunity-boosting foods to our diet is a natural and healthy way to strengthen our immune system.

Taking a proactive approach is not only important during our current (so-called) pandemic circumstances, but it can be protected all year round. Diets centred around whole, plant-based foods appear to stimulate natural killer cell activity. Natural killer cells are part of the innate immune response that hones in on pathogens, including viruses and tumours.

Include plenty of bright and colourful fruits and vegetables in your diet. Vibrant colours signal the presence of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytochemicals like carotenes, polyphenols, flavonoids, and anthocyanidins. Although all plant-based foods possess a variety of protective nutrients, the following foods are particularly nutritiously dense and have unique immune-boosting power:

• Dark leafy greens – kale, arugula, spinach, lettuce, and others

• Beta-carotene-rich foods – carrots, sweet potato, butternut squash

• Berries

• Mushrooms

• Beets

• Garlic

• Ginger

• Tomatoes

• Kiwi

• Raw cacao

• Nuts and seeds – chia, flax, walnuts, Brazil nuts

• Spices – turmeric, cinnamon

You don’t need to eat them all but start eating these PBWF’s that you think can work for you and trust that nature can look after you, boosting your immune response to whatever comes your way.
